Twitter has just announced a change to its direct messaging capability. From July, DMs will no longer carry the 140 character limit Twitter usually enforces.
Direct Message character limit removal makes sense to anyone who uses the feature regularly as it means often having to break up messages to communicate properly.
These changes are set to begin in July, so not for much longer will you be limited to 140 characters in DMs but for standard Tweets, that 140 character limit is staying put.
DMs have increasingly become more flexible and more powerful so Twitter looks poised to make it into a fully-fledged competitor for platforms like FB Messenger at this rate.
